The Drager 8606055 O2 sensor is a replacement consumable for the Fabius Tiro ventilator. During mechanical ventilation, the doctor sets a target oxygen concentration. The sensor monitors the actual percentage of oxygen delivered in the circuit in real time, ensuring that the patient does not suffer from hypoxia due to excessively low oxygen levels or oxygen toxicity due to excessively high oxygen levels.

- When oxygen enters the sensor, an internal chemical reaction occurs, generating a weak current proportional to the oxygen partial pressure. The device determines the oxygen concentration by measuring this current.
